Punjab Health Minister Inspects Rawalpindi Hospitals, Stresses Rapid Development


Rawalpindi, In a concerted effort to enhance healthcare facilities across Punjab, Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique conducted thorough inspections of the Holy Family Hospital and Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi. The visit was part of a broader initiative to evaluate and expedite ongoing development projects within these key medical institutions.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Minister Rafique toured various departments, assessing the progress of the infrastructure enhancements and interacting with patients and their families to gauge their satisfaction with the services provided. His tour included detailed briefings on the construction status of a new block at Holy Family Hospital, where substantial progress has been made across all floors.



During his visit, the Minister directed the completion of critical development tasks, such as the ongoing work in the operation theater and emergency services, setting a strict deadline for June 10. He emphasized the importance of modernizing facilities to meet health standards and ensuring comfort for patients, including the installation of air conditioners in areas lacking them.



Minister Rafique’s commitment to health sector reform was evident as he underscored the necessity of timely completion of these projects to provide quality health facilities to the public. “All resources will be utilized to complete the development work at Holy Family Hospital within the stipulated period,” Rafique stated, reflecting on the urgency and priority of these health initiatives.



The visit extended to Benazir Bhutto Hospital, where the minister reviewed the medical services available and instructed that beautification and repair works be expedited. He reiterated the provincial government’s dedication to revamping medical facilities and highlighted ongoing efforts to implement modern healthcare services across Punjab, including measures to bolster anti-measles campaigns.



This inspection underscores the Punjab government’s proactive approach in ensuring that healthcare services not only meet the required standards but are also responsive to the needs of the population. Minister Rafique’s actions signal a robust commitment to healthcare reforms aimed at securing and advancing the health rights of all citizens in the province.
