Lahore, Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain has outlined new government initiatives aimed at strengthening Punjab’s textile sector during his visit to APTMA House.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, discussions with textile industry stakeholders, including APTMA North Zone Chairman Kamran Arshad, focused on overcoming challenges and reaching a substantial $18 billion revenue target for the year. The minister highlighted ongoing projects such as the development of a garment city on a 2,000-acre site and plans to transition the industry to solar energy. Efforts are also underway to establish facilities for manufacturing solar panels in Punjab, with over 15 meetings already held with international solar companies.
These measures are part of a broader effort to enhance the textile sector’s contribution to the economy and its social impact, ensuring its sustainability and growth.
