Punjab, In response to increasing smog levels, the Punjab Government has mandated the wearing of face masks in smog-affected districts for one week, starting tomorrow. This decision aims to curb air-borne diseases and protect public health in the province.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting reports that the directive applies to Lahore and Gujranwala divisions. Districts including Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, and Mandi Bahauddin, which are expected to have high Air Quality Index readings, are particularly targeted. The Punjab Government emphasizes that prioritizing health is a collective responsibility and urges citizens to adhere to these guidelines for a safer community.
