Punjab Government Accelerates Murree Road Rehabilitation to Enhance Travel for Locals and Tourists


Lahore, In a significant infrastructure push, the Punjab government is advancing the Murree Improvement Plan to revamp travel facilities for the local population and tourists in Murree. This initiative, driven by the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has already seen substantial progress, with 85% of the roadwork completed under the supervision of the C and W Department.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the effort encompasses the repair and rehabilitation of 12 major roads in the region, including Bank Road, Hall Road, and Pindi Point Road, among others. Provincial Minister for Construction and Communications Malik Sahib Ahmad Bharath stated that Rs. 445 million has been allocated for this purpose, aiming to benefit the 1.5 lakh local population and over 16 lakh annual tourists. The project, which is ahead of schedule, also includes lane marking and other final touches to ensure the roads are safe and efficient for travel.
