Punjab Chief Minister Orders Rapid Response to Combat Soan Valley Forest Fire


Lahore, Following a severe fire in the Soan Valley forests, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has mobilized emergency services to address the situation urgently. The fire, which has already claimed the life of a watchman, Syed Ghulam Raza, during his duties, prompted the Chief Minister to order comprehensive firefighting efforts, including aerial operations, to protect this vital natural resource.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Chief Minister Sharif has also called for a detailed report on the cause of the fire from the district administration of Khushab. In response to the tragedy, she has expressed profound condolences to the family of the deceased watchman, acknowledging his sacrifice as a national loss. The Punjab government, she stated, is committed to supporting the family during this difficult time.



Furthermore, CM Sharif has directed the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to initiate aerial firefighting operations to control and eventually extinguish the blaze. She emphasized the importance of the Soan Valley forests and instructed all relevant institutions to stay vigilant until the fire is completely subdued, underscoring the forests’ status as a national asset that must be preserved.
