Punjab Chief Minister Orders Enhanced Security Measures Ahead of Chand Raat


Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has mandated comprehensive security arrangements at bus stands, commercial centers, and markets across the province in preparation for Chand Raat. According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, during a security review meeting, the Chief Minister directed the deployment of additional personnel in bazaars and instructed women’s police squads to patrol in order to prevent harassment incidents, emphasizing the protection of women and children in public spaces.



Chief Minister Sharif also called for the use of drone cameras and night-vision devices for surveillance in business areas and instructed strict monitoring to deter one-wheeling on roads during the festive night. Furthermore, she ordered enhanced security and patrolling around ATMs and banks, with police and transport officials tasked with continuous monitoring at wagon stands and bus terminals.



The Chief Minister underscored the importance of fare compliance, instructing that fare lists be prominently displayed on the windscreens of buses and vans.
