Punjab Chief Minister Launches Solar Tubewell Project for Farmers


Islamabad, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the initiation of the Solar Tubewell Project aimed at aiding farmers throughout the province by ensuring sustainable and cost-effective irrigation solutions.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the announcement came during a meeting with the Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Kazim Pirzada, in Lahore today. Chief Minister Nawaz detailed that the initiative includes the lining of twelve hundred water courses, with an investment totaling ten billion rupees, to enhance water availability, especially for tail-end farmers those located at the end of irrigation canals, who often receive the least water.



The project is expected to significantly improve irrigation efficiency and reduce energy costs for farmers, aligning with broader efforts to support agricultural productivity and sustainability in Punjab.
