Lahore, On Al-Quds Day, Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif issued a strong message in support of the Palestinian cause, calling for an end to Israeli oppression and urging the international community to play a more active role in enforcing Security Council resolutions. The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of the day by saluting the resilience and independence of the Palestinian people and denouncing the injustices they face.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Chief Minister Sharif expressed her deep admiration for the sacrifices made by Palestinians in their struggle for freedom, stating that these efforts would not be forgotten. She highlighted the reprehensible actions of the Zionist state against Palestinian brothers and sisters, emphasizing that such oppression could not diminish the Palestinian spirit. Sharif also stressed the sanctity of Qibla as a holy site for all Muslims, underscoring the need for its protection.
Sharif’s message extended beyond condemnation, as she called on the international community to take immediate and practical steps to halt the ongoing cruelty and brutality inflicted by Israel. She advocated for the implementation of existing Security Council resolutions and agreements, arguing that peace could not be achieved until the issues of Palestine and Kashmir were resolved. The Chief Minister’s statement on Al-Quds Day reflects a strong stance on international human rights and the importance of global solidarity in addressing longstanding conflicts.
