Punjab Assembly Speaker Urges ECP to Implement Amended Election Act Promptly

Lahore: The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, has called on the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ensure the full and immediate implementation of the recently amended Election Act. In a letter addressed to the ECP, Khan emphasized the importance of the amendments, stating that their prompt enactment is essential for maintaining the rule of law and public trust in the electoral system.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Khan’s letter outlined the necessity of the amendments for upholding both the rule of law and public confidence in electoral processes and institutions. He urged the ECP to take immediate action to enforce the new provisions set forth in the Amended Election Act, highlighting the critical nature of these changes in ensuring a transparent and fair electoral process.
