Islamabad, The Punjab Assembly is slated to conduct elections for the key positions of Speaker and Deputy Speaker today, with the process to be carried out through a secret ballot within the assembly chambers.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the session will be presided over by the current Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Muhammad Sibtain Khan, who will oversee the election of the Speaker. Subsequently, the newly elected Speaker will then lead the election for the Deputy Speaker.
This electoral process is a significant event in the province’s legislative calendar, marking the continuation of democratic traditions and the seamless transition of assembly leadership roles.
