Punjab Approves Establishment of Model Fish Market in Lahore


Lahore: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has given the green light for a significant development project aimed at establishing a model fish market in Lahore. This approval came during the 32nd meeting of the PDWP for the current fiscal year 2024-25, chaired by Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan, Chairman of the Planning and Development Board.



According to Planning and Development Board – Punjab announcement issued on 27 September 2024, the approved scheme carries a budget of Rs 34 million and focuses solely on conducting a feasibility study for the model fish market. This initiative is expected to enhance the local economy and infrastructure associated with fisheries in the region.



The meeting brought together key figures including Secretary P and D Board Dr. Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Mr. Masood Anwar, and other senior members of the Planning and Development Board, underscoring the project’s importance to the provincial development agenda.
