Lahore: In a significant infrastructure push, Punjab will see the construction of three new road corridors totaling 450 km, announced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. With an investment of Rs 210 billion, these roads are set to be completed by December 2025, enhancing connectivity between major cities and fostering socio-economic growth in the region.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the project, in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), includes upgrading the existing road from Dipalpur to Vihari to a dual-carriage road and constructing new dual-carriage roads from Sahiwal to Chicha Watani, Rajana; from Rajana to Layyah; and from Shorekot to Jhang Chiragwali. The construction is directed to commence within the next three months.
The approval came during a special meeting that included Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Provincial Minister for Construction and Communications Soheb Ahmad Malik, along with the Chief Secretary, Chairman of Planning and Development, Secretary of Construction and Communications, and other pertinent officials.
