Punjab and Sindh Announce Ramazan Relief Packages for Deserving Families

Islamabad, In a move to alleviate the financial strain on deserving families during the holy month of Ramazan, the provincial governments of Punjab and Sindh have announced comprehensive Ramazan Relief Packages. These initiatives aim to support millions of individuals by providing essential food items and financial assistance, ensuring a semblance of ease and comfort during this period of fasting and reflection.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Punjab Cabinet, under the leadership of its first-ever female Chief Minister, approved the Ramazan Nigehban Relief Package 2024 during a meeting in Lahore. The package includes the distribution of over 6.5 million relief hampers, each containing essential food items such as flour, rice, sugar, edible oil, and chickpea flour. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of quality control and directed district administrations and the Punjab Food Authority to ensure the high standard of the distributed items. A dedicated app and dashboard developed by the Punjab IT Board will monitor the transportation and distribution process to guarantee fair and transparent distribution.

Simultaneously, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced a Ramazan package worth twenty-two point five billion rupees to provide relief to the people of Sindh. During a meeting in Karachi, it was decided to grant five thousand rupees in cash to sixty percent of the province’s population earning minimum wage. This financial aid is part of a broader effort to support the economically vulnerable segments of society during the holy month.

These provincial measures reflect a commitment to social welfare and the upliftment of underprivileged families, ensuring that the spirit of Ramazan is observed with communal support and solidarity.
