Islamabad, June 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Finance Minister Miftah Ismail says the PTI government had put economy at stake, but the incumbent government saved the country from default. Talking to a private news channel, he said the economy was stable in the previous tenure of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz but later it deteriorated due to poor economic policies of PTI government.

The Finance Minister said since Liaqat Ali Khan era, the total loan taken by all governments was 25 billion dollars, while the PTI government alone in just three and a half years took 20 billion dollars loan. He said current economic situation of the country is because of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s commitment with International Monterrey Fund.
