Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) convened a consultation session to address the registration and facilitation of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). The meeting, held at the PTA headquarters, brought together various key stakeholders to discuss mechanisms for improving VPN registration and ensuring secure internet services.
According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, the session included participation from the CEO of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Chairman of Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA), CEO of Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA), as well as representatives from the Ministry of IT and Telecom (MoIT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The discussion centered on enabling legitimate VPN users, with a focus on data security and continuous internet access for sectors such as software houses, BPO firms, banks, embassies, and freelancers.
The stakeholders engaged in dialogue to explore ways to enhance the VPN registration process while maintaining business continuity. The PTA reiterated its commitment to supporting the needs of VPN users by facilitating secure and seamless internet connectivity.
