PTA and GDIP Reinforce Strategic Collaboration on Digital Inclusion at IGF 2025

Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Global Digital Inclusion Partnership (GDIP) have pledged to strengthen their cooperative efforts to promote digital inclusivity, with a focus on gender-responsive policies. This commitment was made during a high-level bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2025.

The PTA delegation, led by Chairman Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, met with GDIP Executive Director Onica N. Makwakwa to discuss the implementation of their shared objectives. The meeting centered on the Letter of Cooperation signed earlier by both organizations, aiming to advance inclusive digital ecosystems.

Key topics of discussion included the PTA’s updates on its Gender Digital Divide program and plans for the upcoming Subsea Cables Workshop. Both parties expressed their commitment to enhancing collaboration under the Gender Inclusion Strategy.

The session concluded with an agreement to identify new opportunities for joint initiatives that promote meaningful connectivity and digital empowerment, underscoring PTA’s dedication to fostering sustainable digital transformation through global partnerships.
