Provincial Minister Transport inaugurates 26 Bus Shelters in Lahore 

Lahore, January 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):Punjab Transport Minister Muneeb Sultan Cheema has inaugurated 26 modern bus shelters on canal road, Lahore. In this regard, an opening ceremony was organised by Punjab Transport Company at the campus bridge bus shelter.

Provincial Minister Muneeb Sultan Cheema cut the ribbon and offered ‘dowa’. Speaking to media representatives on this occasion, the provincial minister said that Punjab Transport Company is constructing 200 new bus stop shelters and 600 flag posts in Lahore at a cost of 208 million rupees under the Annual Development Program (ADP) program 2022/23.

Under the project, 26 new bus stop shelters and 52 flag posts have been constructed on Kanal Road in the first phase. The construction of these bus shelters and flag posts has been done by the Lahore Development Authority after tendering.

The cost of construction of each bus stop shelter is 9 lakh 36 thousand rupees. In the first phase, 26 bus stops have been constructed at various stops on Canal Road. Among these 26 places are Thokar Niaz Baig, Canal View, Mughal Eye Hospital, Hangarwal, PCIR, Federal Colony, New Garden Town, Jail Road, Dharmapura, Mughalpura, Lal Pul, Fatehgarh, Aziz Palli, Taj Bagh, and Phatianwali.

Puli, G4 Johar Town and Campus Bridge are included, he added. The minister said that the bus stop shelters are a reaffirmation of the commitment of provision of travel facilities to the passengers as per the vision of the Punjab government and the Punjab government is soon running standard eco-friendly buses to provide more quality travel facilities to the people.
