Quetta: In a stirring tribute on Defense Day, Provincial Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development Bakht Muhammad Kakar recounted the valor displayed by the Pakistan Army during the 1965 conflict with India. The minister emphasized the historical significance of September 6, 1965, when Indian forces launched an unexpected attack on Pakistan, aiming for Lahore but were robustly repelled by the vigilant Pakistani soldiers.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Minister Kakar delivered a message marking the anniversary of the day, which is celebrated annually with great fervor across Pakistan. He detailed how the Indian assault, in violation of international laws, was decisively thwarted by the Pakistani military with substantial support from the civilian populace. This combined effort not only frustrated the Indian military ambitions but also solidified the spirit of unity and defense prowess among Pakistanis.
The minister further noted that Defense Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by both the military and the citizens. It is a day to renew the commitment to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and foster its development.
