Quetta: Following his recent appointment, the Provincial Health Minister of Balochistan, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, received a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing projects and services within the Health Department. This session, which included key health officials, aimed to enhance the quality and efficiency of health services across the province.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Health Secretary Balochistan Saleh Muhammad Baloch, along with other senior health officials, presented the briefing. The meeting was attended by Director General Health Balochistan Dr. Amin Khan Mandukhel, Principal of BMC College Prof. Raz Mohammad Kakar, and several additional secretaries and directors of various health institutions. The discussions focused on the current state of the health sector and the strategic actions required to foster improvements.
The Provincial Health Minister emphasized the directives from Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti aimed at providing superior health facilities. He highlighted the government’s commitment to leveraging all available resources to enhance medical services at the official level. Bakht Muhammad Kakar pointed out the importance of tertiary care hospitals in Quetta, not only serving the city but also acting as vital centers for the entire province of Balochistan.
During the meeting, Minister Kakar issued specific instructions intended to uplift the operational standards within hospitals. He mandated immediate enhancements in cleanliness, full staff attendance, and systematic documentation of challenges faced by hospital administrations. These measures are expected to facilitate ongoing assessments and optimize resource allocation.
Furthermore, Minister Kakar declared a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption within the health department and stressed the importance of uncompromised service delivery to achieve the set goals for health sector improvement in Balochistan.
