Lahore: Provincial Health Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, Khawaja Salman Rafique, visited the main procession route and Imam Bargahs in Bahawalpur. The visit focused on overseeing security measures for the upcoming procession, which will stretch from Jamia Hussainia to Karbala Square.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab announcement issued on 10 July 2024, Khawaja Salman Rafique expressed that the tour was part of a directive from the Chief Minister of Punjab to ensure the safety of the participants. He emphasized the importance of unity among Muslims and stated that comprehensive arrangements including security, Sabil, Langar, and medical care have been made to facilitate the event.

The visit also included meetings with members of the Divisional Peace Committee and officials from the Police, Civil Defence, and Rescue 1122. Additionally, the Health Minister was accompanied by Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rahman, Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan, and other notable figures such as South Punjab Muhammad Kamran Khan, Additional IG CTD Waseem Sial, and local government officials.
