Provinces Convene in Islamabad to Address Water Distribution Dispute


Islamabad: In a concerted effort to resolve longstanding disparities in water distribution, representatives from Pakistan’s provinces convened in a crucial meeting chaired by the Minister for Water Resources, Dr. Musadik Malik.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the session held in Islamabad, Dr. Malik committed to exhaustive efforts aimed at resolving the issues rooted in the 1991 water distribution accord. The meeting saw active participation from the irrigation ministers of all four provinces, each presenting their distinct concerns and perspectives regarding the current water distribution framework.



The assembly reached a consensus to sustain the dialogue process until all provincial grievances are comprehensively addressed, marking a step forward in collaborative governance and equitable resource management.
