Protests, rallies in AJK, London against Modi’s visit to IIOJK 

Muzaffarabad, April 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Protests and rallies are being held in various districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir against the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, this is the first visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to IIOJK since the repeal of its special status on August 5, 2019.

A sit-in was held at Burhan Wani Chowk in Muzaffarabad under the auspices of Pasban-e-Hurriyat today against the controversial visit of Modi to the occupied territory. The anti-Modi sit-in was led by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, PPP leaders Shaukat Javed Mir, Usman Ali Hashim and Javed Ahmad Mughal.

The participants of the sit-in were holding black flags in their hands and were chanting slogans like “Go Modi Go Back” and were also raising slogans against India and Modi. Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter leader, Abdul Majeed Malik in a statement in Islamabad termed the visit of the Indian Prime Minister to IIOJK as tantamount to sprinkling salt on the wounds of Kashmiris.

He said that Narendra Modi wanted to divert the attention of the international community from the serious human rights violations in the territory but he would never succeed in his nefarious designs. Abdul Majeed Malik said that Kashmiri people would never accept India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and they would continue their struggle for freedom at any cost.

An anti-India protest demonstration was held in 10 Downing Street London. Hurriyat AJK leader Abdul Hameed Lone said that India under Modi has broken all records of oppression in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. It is pertinent to mention that the people of Kashmir are observing complete shutdown on the call of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) on the visit of the Indian Prime Minister.
