Protests in Srinagar, Jammu against occupation authorities’ anti-people policies

Srinagar, September 14, 2023 (PPI-OT): Protest demonstrations were held in Srinagar and Jammu against anti-people policies of New Delhi-installed administration in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, scores of Khidmat Centre employees staged a protest at Press Colony in Srinagar demanding proper job policy for them. The aggrieved employees said that they have been working in J and K Bank-led Khidmat centers for years, and still they are awaiting a proper job policy.

They said, “We have been working for over a decade, and multiple times, we were promised a proper job policy. We met various government officials, and they promised us a proper rehabilitation policy, but the promises were never fulfilled”.

“They only make promises, but nothing is done on the ground. We have been protesting for last many days, but no heed has been paid to our issue. When it comes to our demands, authorities are turning a blind eye towards our issue,” they maintained.

In Jammu, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held strong protest demo at the party office in Ghandi Nagar area against the alleged Rs 13000 cr scam in the Jal Jeevan Mission in IIOJK. The PDP activists led by senior youth leaders later took out protest march towards Bikram Chowk (Tawi Bridge). They were shouting slogans against Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha led administration and the BJP, demanding high level probe into the scam.

Talking to media persons, PDP youth leaders said that a senior IAS officer from Dalit community who exposed the scandal and brought it to the notice of higher authorities was victimized and transferred about 3-4 times from one department to the within one year. They added that the IIOJK administration was claiming to end corruption and bring transparency in the system but this all seems to be an attempt to befool the people.
