Srinagar: A large-scale protest erupted in Pulwama district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir following the custodial killing of a local youth, leading to violent clashes between demonstrators and security forces.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth, identified as Abid Manzoor, was detained by the Special Operation Group three days prior and was reportedly killed during interrogation. His body was found in the Jehlum River today, sparking outrage and protests along the Srinagar-Jammu highway. In response, security personnel deployed teargas and live ammunition to disperse the crowds, resulting in multiple injuries among the protesters.
