Jammu, In the Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a protest has erupted over the abduction and subsequent custodial killing of a youth, allegedly by Indian army soldiers.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the demonstration was organized by relatives and family members of the victim in the Kotranka area of the district. The protesters, demanding justice for the bereaved family, expressed outrage over the incident. They claimed that the youth, who had been abducted three days earlier, was found murdered in the Kotranka area, with local police failing to take action against the implicated Indian army soldiers.
A missing person report for the youth was filed a few days ago at Kandi Police Station, and his body was later discovered. The family has stated that he was murdered following his abduction.
In response to the incident, family members and local residents protested today, calling for a thorough investigation into the abduction and killing. They warned of a massive agitation if the police do not conduct a proper inquiry.
This incident comes in the wake of a significant event last year on December 22, when Indian army soldiers allegedly abducted 13 Kashmiris in the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri. Following strong protests in the two districts, three of them reportedly died in custody due to torture, while ten others were hospitalized in critical condition. The youth in question is believed to be one of those abducted by the Indian army and later tortured to death while in custody.
