Protests against authorities’ anti-people policies in IIOJK

Jammu, July 14, 2023 (PPI-OT): People held strong protest demonstrations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the anti-people policies of the authorities. Up in arms against unscheduled power cuts, people held strong protest demonstrations in many places across Chenani in Jammu. One of such protests was held in the front of the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office, Chenaniagainst the PDD subdivision, Chenani.

Tehsildar Chenani Ved Parkash reached the spot and assured them that their grievance would be brought into the notice of the district administration. Similarly, students, who could not get through in the Class 11th results, declared recently by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, protested alleging discrepancies in the result. The aggrieved students from different areas of the Additional district Bhaderwah assembled near girls’ higher secondary school, Bhaderwah, and shouted slogans against the J and K Board of School Education.

The protest was suspended after the protesting students reached the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner and submitted a memorandum apprising the higher officials of the Board about the matter. Likewise, locals of Panchayat Dudu and Pachot number 2 staged a protest to highlight the shortage of teaching staff in schools across Zone Dudu. They protested in front of the office of Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dudu. They raised slogans against the Education Department and demanded posting of adequate teaching staff in the schools.

Residents of various areas of Srinagar staged a protest against the installation of Smart Meters. The move by the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) to install Smart Meters is facing stiff resistance from various Srinagar areas. Multiple protests were held at Batamaloo and Nawab Bazar against installation of Smart Meters.
