Protest in Muzaffarabad Denounces Indian Actions in Jammu and Kashmir

Muzaffarabad: A significant protest demonstration was held in Muzaffarabad against what participants described as oppressive actions by the Indian government in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), particularly referencing events dating back to August 5, 2019.

According to Kashmir Media Service, demonstrators voiced strong opposition to the Indian government’s policies, which they claim have stripped the Kashmiri people of their basic human rights and civil liberties. The protest, led by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, saw participation from various Hurriyat leaders and a vocal public outcry demanding international intervention.

The protesters, carrying banners calling for the United Nations to intervene, marched from the Old Secretariat to Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk, chanting slogans for freedom and condemning the alleged state terrorism and human rights violations by India in the region.

Speakers at the event emphasized the desire of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for complete autonomy from India and urged the United Nations to take immediate action against the ongoing issues in the area.
