Dhirkot, May 09, 2023 (PPI-OT): A protest sit-in and a rally were held in Dhirkot area of Azad Jammu and Kashmir against the holding of the proposed meeting of G-20 in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir – internationally recognized disputed territory – by the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government. During the sit-in organized by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir a large number of people waved black flags in the main square of the city and protested against India’s nefarious move. The protesters including elderly, youth and children participated in the protest to demand of the G-20 countries to boycott the proposed meeting. The protesters carried banners and placards with slogans such as “Boycott – G-20 Boycott” and “Oppressor India – quit Jammu and Kashmir”.
Led by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, the demonstration was attended among others by Usman Ali Hashim, Raja Mehtab Ashraf, Asad Abdullah and business leaders. Addressing on the occasion, Uzair Ghazali said India is trying to hide its war crimes in occupied Jammu and Kashmir by holding the G-20 meeting in the disputed territory. He urged the G-20 members to understand India’s military and political objectives behind the move and skip the proposed meeting.
Usman Ali Hashim, Raja Mehtab Ashraf and Asad Abdullah in their speeches said according to the UN Charter, holding of any international event in a disputed region is illegal, so, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Indonesia and China should boycott the G-20 meeting in IIOJK and reject India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
