Protest held in Jammu against rising unemployment

Jammu, September 18, 2023 (PPI-OT): A protest demonstration was held in Jammu, the winter capital of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, against the rising unemployment in the territory. The protest was organized by the youth activists of Congress.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress youth leader Uday Bhanu Chib, said that by staging the protest the Congress wants to highlight the critical issue of unemployment that has affected millions of youth.

Chib said that tackling unemployment not event in the list of BJP government’s priorities. “Capable and competent young men and women are sitting idle, jobless because of the extreme dearth of jobs available,” he said.

“On the other hand, we see no efforts or policies directed towards this goal of handling the job crisis,” he added.

Anirudh Sawhney, another party leader, emphasized the need for urgent attention to address the soaring unemployment rates, which have been exacerbated by the misrule policies of the BJP government.

Among others who were present during the event included Fiaz Diwan, Ranjoth Singh, Sahil Dogra, Rishab Kohli and Rohan.
