Protest Erupts in Muzaffarabad Against Indian Home Minister’s Visit to Kashmir


Muzaffarabad: A significant protest unfolded in Muzaffarabad as demonstrators voiced their opposition to Indian Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The protest attracted a substantial crowd, including many women, who expressed their dissent by holding banners and placards.



Participants in the demonstration waved black flags and shouted slogans such as “The Kashmir soaked in blood is ours” and “Unacceptable, unacceptable, Indian occupation unacceptable.” The collective demand for freedom resonated throughout the gathering.



Speakers at the protest criticized Amit Shah’s visit, stating that the people of Kashmir reject his presence. They accused Shah of being responsible for the actions of August 5, 2019, which they view as illegal. The speakers emphasized the Kashmiri people’s refusal to accept India’s control and aggression in the region.



They further labeled Amit Shah as a terrorist, asserting that he would not find a welcome in the occupied territory. The protest was organized by Pasban Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir and featured speeches from representatives such as Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Usman Ali Hashim, Mehnaz Qureshi, PPP leader Shaukat Javed Mir, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Syed Saleem Shah, and Director Kashmir Liberation Cell Raja Sajjad Latif Khan.



The protest underscored the continued tension and resistance within the region against Indian governance and military presence.
