Muzaffarabad, December 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):A protest demonstration was held at Burhan Wani Chowk in Muzaffarabad, today, against the growing violations of human rights by Indian troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The protest demonstration was organized by the International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Jammu and Kashmir.
The speakers addressing on the occasion said the Indian troops are killing innocent Kashmiris and depriving them of their birth right to self-determination but the international human rights organisations have become a mute spectator. They said India has made IIOJK a killing place, its economy has been destroyed, people are being deprived of offering prayers and basic facilities are not being provided to the Kashmiri detainees in jails.
The speakers expressed concern over the silence of the international community on the increasing Indian atrocities in IIOJK and appealed to the international community to break its criminal silence and take concrete steps for establishment of peace in the region.
They said since 90s, India has orphaned near two lakh children in the occupied territory, 24,000 women have become widows, 11,000 women have been molested, 7,000 anonymous graves have been discovered, 2300 husbands of the women have been disappeared after their arrest, 3,500 people have been physically disabled due to being hit by pellets and over 4,000 Kashmiris are still detained in various jails.
Besides Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Syed Azhar Gilani, Uzair Ghazali, Mohammad Younis Mir, Shaukat Javed Mir, Raja Sajjad Lateef, Abdul Razzaq Khan, Sheikh Maqsood, Sajjad Abbasi, Advocate Mehtab Mir, Dr Manzoor, Talal Gilani, Javed Mughal and Tanzeer Iqbal, leaders of various political parties, civil society members, lawyers and students participated in the demonstration. The message of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Jammu and Kashmir Chairman Muhammad Ahsan Untoo was also read on the occasion.
