Protest against killing of two locals by Indian troops in Rajouri 

Jammu, December 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, massive protests were held against the killing of two locals outside the Indian army camp in Rajouri district. The two locals, identified as Kamal Kumar and Surinder Kumar with bullet marks, were killed by the Indian troops outside the Indian army camp along Poonch-Rajouri highway of the district on Friday morning.

People of the area assembled on the spot and started protest against the incident which happened near “Alaf gate” of the Army camp. The protesters, demanding probe into the incident, blocked the highway and halted the traffic on the road. They raised high-pitched slogans against the Indian Army.

Eyewitnesses said empty cartridges have been found outside the Indian Army’s Alpha Gate. “I was travelling in my vehicle and heard several shots of bullets at the Indian army camp. I left behind my vehicle and ran towards the camp. Later, I came to know that two locals have been killed,” an eyewitness truck driver said.

The victims, who were reportedly working as porters with the Indian Army, were approaching the Alpha Gate of an Army camp when they were fired upon by the troops, Indian police officials said. Similar protests were also held in Nowshera area of the district, with participants demanding probe into the killing of the locals. The situation in the area is tense and the agitated people pelted stones at the Indian Army camp.
