Islamabad, September 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):President Dr. Arif Alvi says the society has a collective responsibility for protection of women rights. Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Thursday, he stressed the need for behavioural changes to provide due rights to women. The President said a civilized society itself ensures rights to its weaker segments.
He said Islam has clearly explained the rights of women and gave rights to women fourteen centuries ago. The President said despite availability of inheritance laws Pakistan women face numerous pressures to get their property rights. He said only a society having justice can progress.
Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Dr Sania Nishtar highlighted the educational and financial incentives being given to the female students under Ehsaas program. She said the government is committed to provide educational stipends and scholarships for girl students under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision.
