Protection of Child Rights a Shared Duty, Declares Pakistan National Assembly Speaker

Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has emphasized that ensuring children’s education and protection is a collective responsibility, highlighting the constitutional guarantees for fundamental child rights in Pakistan. Speaking ahead of World Children’s Day, he noted the establishment of the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights as a key initiative to enhance child welfare nationwide.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq underscored the importance of child welfare, quality education, and proper parenting for national development. He reiterated that World Children’s Day serves as a reminder of the need to provide a safe environment for children to achieve their goals. The Speaker affirmed the Parliament’s commitment to advancing measures that safeguard children’s rights, supported by Pakistan’s legal framework that ensures education, prohibits child labor, and guarantees protection without discrimination.

Sadiq also stressed the necessity of creating a supportive environment for children to reach their full potential and live dignified lives. He called on educational institutions, civil society, and parents to actively promote child rights. The Speaker reaffirmed the National Assembly’s dedication to ensuring access to education, healthcare, nutrition, and justice for every child in Pakistan.
