Promotion Wave in Islamabad Police: 201 Constables Promoted to Head Constables

Islamabad: In a significant move aimed at bolstering the ranks of the Islamabad Police, 201 constables have been elevated to the position of Head Constable. This comes as part of a broader departmental promotion initiative led by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

The promotions are the result of a series of meetings by the Departmental Promotion Committee, which worked under direct instructions from the IGP to ensure a merit-based and transparent process. Senior officers assessed the departmental records and professional capabilities of personnel eligible for promotion, focusing on filling vacant positions.

Earlier this week, the IGP also approved the promotion of 11 Sub-Inspectors to Inspectors. Earlier in the month, 62 Head Constables were promoted to Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and four Inspectors were advanced to Deputy Superintendent of Police. These promotions have been officially sanctioned by the IGP.

IGP Rizvi highlighted the importance of these promotions, stating, “Promotions of police officers are among our top priorities. Departmental promotions reflect increased responsibility and trust, and promotion is the fundamental right of every police officer.”

He urged all officers to perform their duties with dedication and professionalism, expecting them to uphold the department’s reputation. He further emphasized the importance of police welfare and assured that promotions would continue to be carried out based on merit and transparency until all vacancies are filled.
