Srinagar, 16 Oct 2023: Senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq mourned the passing of renowned Kashmiri writer, poet, and journalist Ghulam Nabi Khayal. Farooq commended Khayal’s various contributions to literature, journalism, and society. As per Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz mentioned his close association with the deceased and the significant void left behind in Kashmiri literary and journalistic realms. Mirwaiz also extended his condolences for the passing of the spouse of Mir Bashir Ahmad, Asaar -e-Shareef Pinjoora’s custodian.
