Srinagar: Renowned businessman and philanthropist, Khwaja Ghulam Qadir Kawoosa, has passed away, triggering a wave of mourning among the community and business circles in Srinagar. His death was commemorated with funeral prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar, attended by officials of the Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid and prominent local figures.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the head of the Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, issued a statement in Srinagar expressing profound grief over Kawoosa’s demise. He highlighted Kawoosa’s significant contributions to the societal and business realms of the region, particularly in Srinagar. Farooq also extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Kawoosa’s bereaved family, noting the deep impact of his loss on the community.
Kawoosa, who was a resident of Nowhatta and later moved to Nishat, was remembered for his remarkable achievements and dedication to community welfare. Following the funeral services, a collective Fateha ceremony was held at his residence, which was attended by other notable figures and community members.
