Pro-Pakistan Independence Day Posters Appear in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: Ahead of Pakistan’s Independence Day, posters have been displayed throughout Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, extending congratulations to the people and Government of Pakistan, amidst heavy security presence.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the posters, visible despite the extensive deployment of Indian forces and surveillance measures, celebrate Pakistan’s 77th independence anniversary on August 14. The messages highlight the unresolved status of the Kashmir issue as part of the partition legacy, labeling Pakistan as a supporter of Kashmiri self-determination efforts.

These posters assert that sustainable peace in the region hinges on resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with the desires of its people and United Nations resolutions. Further, they express sentiments that link the Kashmiri struggle directly to Pakistan, stating, “Kashmiris consider themselves a part of this country and are struggling to free Jammu and Kashmir from the Indian illegal occupation and annex it to Pakistan.”

In contrast, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, a spokesman for the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), marked the upcoming Indian Independence Day on August 15 as a ‘Black Day’ for Kashmiris, rejecting India’s control and the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A.

The content of these posters has also been circulated widely across social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
