Priyanka Gandhi Criticizes Modi Government’s Response to Manipur Violence

New Delhi: Priyanka Gandhi, General Secretary of India’s Congress party, has publicly criticized the Modi government for its alleged inaction in addressing the ongoing violence in Manipur, which she claims has persisted for over a year.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Gandhi, in a statement on the social media platform X, accused the Modi administration of remaining silent while Manipur faces continuous unrest. She highlighted that the violence has escalated to the destruction of homes and the disintegration of families, asserting that no substantial efforts have been made by the current government to stabilize the situation.

Gandhi emphasized that internal security is a fundamental responsibility of the Prime Minister and should not be subject to personal discretion. Additionally, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge echoed Gandhi’s sentiments earlier today, criticizing the government’s handling of the situation and calling for the dismissal of Manipur’s Chief Minister N Bariyan Singh in light of the recent violent incidents.
