Priyanka Gandhi Criticizes BJP’s Policies in Jammu and Kashmir at Samba Rally

Jammu: At an election rally in Bishnah, Samba district, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi voiced strong criticism against the BJP-led government’s approach in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), accusing it of framing policies that favor non-residents over the native population.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Gandhi charged that the BJP has not only failed to quell violence in the region but has exploited the situation to mislead both Indian and Kashmiri populations for its own political gain. She pointed to the Pulwama attack as an example of the BJP using terrorism as a tool to benefit politically.

Further criticizing the Modi regime, Gandhi highlighted the abrogation of Article 370, which the BJP claimed would bring peace and normalcy to the region. Contrary to these claims, she argued, the situation has worsened, leading to policies that primarily benefit outsiders and undermine the rights and welfare of the local people.

Gandhi also expressed concern over the “suffocation” felt in Jammu and Kashmir over the past decade and reiterated her party’s commitment to restoring statehood and the 150-year-old Darbar Move practice, emphasizing Congress’s dedication to reversing the current oppressive political climate.
