Pune, An aviation training session took a perilous turn when a trainer aircraft associated with a private flight academy crashed near a village in Pune district, Maharashtra, on Sunday morning. Both occupants, an instructor and a trainee pilot, sustained injuries in the accident.
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place near Gojubavi village under the Baramati taluka at approximately 8 am. Prabhakar More, Baramati police station’s senior inspector, confirmed the crash, noting, “A trainer aircraft, belonging to the Redbird Flight Training Academy, crashed near Gojubavi village. Both the trainee pilot and instructor suffered injuries and have been promptly transported to a neighbouring hospital for medical attention.”
The exact cause behind the unfortunate event remains undetermined at this time. Inspector More stated, “We are conducting a probe into the incident.” Disturbingly, this marks the second occurrence of a similar nature involving an aircraft from the Redbird Flight Training Academy within a span of just four days.
