Islamabad, Dr. Tariq Mehmood Khan, the Principal Information Officer (PIO), has reiterated the government’s commitment to the equitable distribution of advertisements, particularly to aid regional newspapers. In a conversation with a delegation from the Regional Information Branch Journalists Association (RIBJA), led by Sardar Shaukat Mehmood, the PIO emphasized ongoing improvements in the distribution process.
According to Press Information Department, served as a platform for the delegation to extend congratulations to Dr. Khan on his new role and to convey the challenges regional newspapers are facing. Dr. Khan recognized the critical issues highlighted by the delegation and assured them that resolving these matters is a priority.
A fair allocation of advertisements is crucial for the survival and growth of regional newspapers, which often rely on such revenue streams to operate. The delegation, which included notable members like Murtaza Malik, Asia Khattak, Fayyaz Chaudhry, Malik Asif, Waqar Chaudhry, Arshad Dev Safzai, and Bilal Uzmi, left the meeting with assurances from Dr. Khan that the government is dedicated to creating a supportive environment for these publications.
