Prime Minister urges youth to promote country’s soft image by exploiting potential of film making

Islamabad, June 26, 2021 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Imran Khan says scholarships will be given to young film makers to portray the real soft image of the country. He was addressing National Amateur Short film festival organised by the Ministry of Information and ISPR, in Islamabad today (Saturday).

 

Imran Khan said the world does not acknowledge copied material and we should promote our own cultural values and new ideas. The Prime Minister urged the youngsters to promote Pakistanism as they have huge opportunities in film industry. Talking about the religious tourism potential, Imran Khan said world in new millennium has acknowledged our effort of Kartarpur corridor. He said Pakistan has twelve climatic zones which mean it can produce everything and can export to the whole world.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said government is taking bold steps to utilize modern technologies for film making purposes. He said media plays an important role in promoting the narrative of states. Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the government is establishing first Digital Media University this year. Thanking the ISPR, he said it has given a new dimension to short films in the country which is commendable.

 

He said Radio Pakistan, national news agency APP and PTV will start their digitalised services by August this year. Speaking on the occasion, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Babar Iftikhar said it is high time for Pakistan to improve its perception on the global level as we have almost won the war against terror. He said the enemies besides their efforts to harm us through the war, have been attempting to dent the country’s stature and image.
