Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Visit Uzbekistan for Bilateral Talks and Business Forum


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is set to embark on an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan on February 25-26, 2025, following an invitation from Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and explore opportunities for cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, and regional stability.



According to a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif and President Mirziyoyev are expected to engage in discussions covering connectivity, economic collaboration, energy, defense, security, and education. The leaders will also address regional and international issues of mutual interest and are anticipated to sign several bilateral agreements and Memorandums of Understanding.



In addition to the official talks, Prime Minister Sharif will deliver an address at the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum. The forum will see participation from leading businessmen from both nations, who will engage in business-to-business meetings aimed at enhancing bilateral trade.



The visit reflects the shared historical, cultural, and religious ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, as both nations aspire for peace and development. The trip underscores Pakistan’s commitment to fostering greater economic collaboration with Uzbekistan, in line with its strategic vision for regional integration and economic prosperity.
