BAKU: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to address the Climate Action Summit COP29 in Baku today. In his anticipated speech, the Prime Minister will elaborate on the pressing threats that climate change poses to Pakistan and will outline the country’s strategic initiatives aimed at mitigating these environmental risks. Additionally, he is expected to discuss the responsibilities of developed nations in climate action and the proposed establishment of a new fund to support these efforts.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. Their meeting will center on strengthening bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on energy and regional connectivity.
