Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Supports UN Ceasefire Resolution in Gaza

Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his support for the United Nations Security Council’s resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, emphasizing the urgent need for its implementation to halt the violence affecting innocent civilians in the region.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif’s statement calls on the international community to take immediate action to ensure that the ceasefire resolution is enforced, highlighting the severe impact of the conflict on the Palestinian people. He condemned the “ongoing Zionist oppression” and described the attacks on Gaza, which have resulted in the martyrdom of thousands of women and children, as well as the deliberate bombing of hospitals and refugee camps, as “barbaric” and “highly deplorable.”

The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, advocating for the creation of a Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders. This stance underscores Pakistan’s long-standing position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and its commitment to seeking a peaceful and just resolution that recognizes the rights and sovereignty of the Palestinian people.
