Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Orders Swift, Transparent Completion of Jinnah Medical Complex

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has mandated the expedited and transparent completion of the Jinnah Medical Complex (JMC), aiming to elevate it to a state-of-the-art tertiary hospital. This directive was issued during a review meeting held in Islamabad on Friday.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of incorporating modern health facilities at JMC to serve patients nationwide. He advocated for the engagement of renowned experts in drafting the master plan and selecting medical equipment, ensuring top-tier technical and medical standards.

The meeting shed light on the ongoing progress of JMC, revealing plans to transform the facility into a trust to manage its administrative functions, with the Prime Minister serving as the patron-in-chief. Sharif praised the Aga Khan Foundation for its significant contributions to the project and reiterated the necessity for a transparent and efficient construction process.

The discussions also touched on challenges faced in previous projects, such as the Punjab Kidney and Liver Institute, which Sharif claimed was targeted by conspiratorial actions aimed at undermining its success.

The assembly included Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Jehanzeb Khan, Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Health Mukhtar Ahmed Bharath, and other high-ranking officials, all committed to ensuring the project’s success within the shortest feasible timeframe.
