Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Orders Evacuation of Pakistani Students from Kyrgyzstan

Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Pakistani Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Hasan Ali Zaigham, to organize a special flight for the evacuation of 130 Pakistani students from Kyrgyzstan. The directive follows recent disturbances in the region, prioritizing the return of injured students and their family members.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in a telephone conversation with Ambassador Zaigham, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the need for constant communication with both the students and their families to ensure their safety and facilitate their timely return. The Prime Minister has instructed that those injured and family members residing in Kyrgyzstan be given priority in repatriation efforts.

A special plane is scheduled to depart for Bishkek this evening to transport the students back to Pakistan. Ambassador Zaigham also briefed the Prime Minister on his discussions with the Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister, who assured him that the security situation has stabilized with no new incidents of violence reported recently. The Deputy Foreign Minister confirmed that security measures have been reinforced, ensuring the safety of Pakistani and other foreign students. Furthermore, he stated that, should any student wish to return to Pakistan even after the normalization of the situation, all necessary facilities would be provided to facilitate their return.
