Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Orders Establishment of Anti-Riots Force in Islamabad

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued directives to establish an Anti-Riots Force in Islamabad and across the country, aimed at effectively dealing with rioters. The announcement was made during a review meeting on the law-and-order situation in the capital.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister emphasized that the new force should receive professional training and be equipped with internationally recognized tools. The meeting also included briefings on recent attacks on public property and law enforcement personnel by protesters.

Prime Minister Sharif criticized those involved in what he described as historical corruption and attempts to incite chaos to protect their political interests. He noted the injuries and fatalities suffered by security forces during the protests and called for immediate legal action against those responsible.

The Prime Minister instructed for improvements in the prosecution system and claimed that the stock exchange experienced a significant rise as soon as the disruptive activities subsided. He attributed the economic losses incurred during the protests to a “gang of anarchists” and stressed the need for exemplary punishment for the miscreants.

Furthermore, Sharif paid tribute to the security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty and urged the formulation of a comprehensive strategy to prevent future disruptive marches. He called for legal actions against those inciting unrest and damaging property and reiterated the government’s tolerance in handling armed individuals posing as peaceful protesters.
