Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Orders Comprehensive Measures to Mitigate Monsoon Rain Impact

Islamabad: In response to the severe monsoon rains affecting various regions across Pakistan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has issued directives for immediate and effective measures to safeguard the lives and properties of citizens. These directives were given during a telephonic conversation with the Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Lt. Gen. Inam Haider Malik.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for enhanced coordination with the provincial governments and the administrations of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. He tasked the Chairman of NDMA to urgently assess the damage to lives and properties caused by the ongoing rains.

Prime Minister Sharif has ordered the swift restoration of highways and roads disrupted by the rains and landslides. He further mandated the provision of comprehensive healthcare facilities in the affected areas, ensuring that relief items, including medicines and other essential commodities, are readily available.

Expressing sorrow over the fatalities resulting from the rains and subsequent floods, Prime Minister Sharif offered prayers for the deceased and extended his condolences to their families. He also instructed that all necessary medical assistance be provided to those injured due to the rain-related incidents.
